Prints developed with 5-MTN will develop a stronger purple than ninhydrin.

In addtion, prints developed with 5-MTN will become strongly fluroescent when post-treated with a zinc-chloride solution. A red-purple color will develop after the zinc treatment and will fluoresce under green light (515-560nm).
