This new Peroxide Detection Kit PDK is able to detect improvised chlorate-based and peroxide-based explosive compounds. One of the more deadly forms of peroxide-based compounds is TATP Triacetonetriperoxide, used several times by terrorists.

The PDK kit contains two bottles: the first A to identify/detect chlorate-based residues; and the second B to detect peroxide-based residues

. Testing is done sequentially beginning with Reagent A and if there is no reaction, continuing to Reagent B. A positive reaction is a dark blue color.

The testing procedure uses small collection papers to swipe a surface or substance. Drops from bottle A and B are placed on the paper.



A positive reaction results in an immediate color change.
