Description
This 7x magnifier has two light sources, illuminating a broad field of view in two directions. There are three scales available for this magnifier: the Inch Scale, the Metric Scale, and the General Purpose Scale (all shown below). These scales are threaded for easy attachment and changing, the entire unit comes in a small case, which can be used to store the unit and scales when not in use, two AA batteries are required (not included). Many bloodspatter examiners prefer this magnifier and scales for measuring the tails on blood droplets, questioned document examiners can also use them for typewriter comparion.
Inch scale: This scale measures in inches. (0.005” intervals over a 0.750” range) Metric Scale: This scale measures in millimeters (0.1mm increments over a 20mm range) General Purpose Scale: The general-purpose scale incorporates five different scales, one measures radii from 1/16” to 3/8” in 1/32” increments. The second scale measures angles in degree intervals over a 90 ∞ range. The third scale measures decimal fractions of an inch over a 0.500” range at 0.005” intervals. The fourth scale is a metric scale, 10mm long, engraved in 0.1 mm intervals. The fifth scale contains three lines: 0.001”, 0.002” and 0.003” wide, respectively.
