Description
NIK Test G Cocaine-Crack
The NIK Cocaine-Crack Test (Test G) utilises a Modified Scott Reagent to provide a highly reliable presumptive identification of Cocaine, Crack, or Free Base. In many jurisdictions, crime laboratories face extensive backlogs, making on-site field testing essential for immediate investigations. Consequently, law enforcement and forensic teams rely on this specialised kit to confirm suspected substances before filing criminal charges.
Advanced Three-Ampoule Technology
The NIK system uses a heavy-duty plastic pouch containing three separate chemical ampoules. This multi-step process increases the accuracy of the test and helps eliminate false positives. To perform the test, an investigator simply places a small sample into the pouch and breaks the ampoules in sequence. A specific series of colour changes indicates a positive result:
- First Ampoule: The liquid turns blue or pink with blue speckles.
- Second Ampoule: The solution shifts to a solid pink colour.
- Third Ampoule: A distinct pink layer forms over a blue layer.
Practical Field Application
This self-contained design eliminates the need for manual measuring, mixing, or dispensing of hazardous reagents. Because the chemicals remain sealed within the pouch, the user never comes into direct contact with the reagents. This ensures maximum safety during roadside stops or crime scene processing. Furthermore, each pack contains 10 individual test pouches, providing a cost-effective solution for high-volume field work.
Storage and Procurement
The reagents in these pouches maintain an indefinite shelf life when stored correctly. However, users should avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight or extreme heat to ensure the chemicals remain stable. Please note that because these kits come from a USA-based supplier, there may be a lead time of over 28 days if the item is not currently in stock. We recommend calling our office for the most current updates on availability.
