Description

NIK Test D -LSD
The NIK LSD Test (Test D) utilises a Modified Ehrlich’s Reagent to provide a specialised solution for the presumptive identification of LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide). Because LSD is extremely potent and typically found in minute quantities on blotter paper, gel tabs, or thin films, forensic investigators require a highly sensitive chemical reagent for accurate field detection. To ensure the most reliable results, professionals should use Test D as a confirmatory step following positive results from NIK Tests A and B.

Advanced Two-Ampoule Technology

The NIK system features a heavy-duty, reinforced plastic pouch containing two separate chemical ampoules. This sequential process allows for a controlled chemical reaction within a single, secure unit, reducing the risk of false positives from other non-narcotic alkaloids. To perform the analysis, an investigator places a small sample of the suspected material into the pouch and breaks the internal glass ampoules in order. A positive result for LSD follows a specific pattern:
  • First Ampoule: No initial colour change occurs.
  • Second Ampoule: The solution develops a distinct, clear lavender colour.
Safety and Operational Efficiency
Safety remains a top priority in the design of the NIK pouch. Because the reagents remain sealed within the reinforced plastic, the user avoids any manual measuring, mixing, or dispensing of hazardous liquid acids. This self-contained design eliminates the risk of chemical burns and ensures the sample stays uncontaminated during the testing process. Each pack contains 10 individual test pouches, providing a portable and cost-effective solution for high-volume field work or laboratory intake.
Storage and Procurement
The reagents in these pouches maintain an indefinite shelf life when stored in a cool, dark environment. However, users must avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight or extreme heat to maintain chemical stability. Please note that since these kits originate from a USA-based supplier, a lead time of over 28 days may apply if the item is out of stock.
