Ardrox Fluorescent Liquid Dye

£35.00

Ardrox Fluorescent Liquid Dye is a fluorescent liquid dye which works well with lasers, Forensic Light Sources and UV lamps. Ardrox can be used full-strength or can be diluted with ethanol or methanol, since the solution is about the consistency of syrup; most examiners prefer to dilute it. Ardrox dyes glue-fumed and developed latent prints quite well. While Ardrox-developed prints fluoresce under 365 nm, better results have been reported while examining evidence with 450-480 nm light. Shelf life of unmixed solution: five years, keep in a cool, dry place. Shelf life of mixed solution: one year or longer, store in a fume hood or flammable liquids cabinet. Price shown is per 500ml.

Description

Ardrox Fluorescent Liquid Dye – 500ml Latent Print Enhancer
Our professional Ardrox Fluorescent Liquid Dye provides a highly sensitive solution for enhancing latent fingerprints. Forensic laboratories primarily use this reagent after cyanoacrylate (superglue) fuming. Because Ardrox adheres specifically to the polymerised ridges, it reveals sharp details that standard lighting cannot capture. Consequently, it serves as a vital tool for recovering evidence from non-porous surfaces like plastic and metal.
Superior Fluorescence and Visualisation
Ardrox works exceptionally well with lasers, Forensic Light Sources (FLS), and UV lamps. While the dye fluoresces under 365 nm, investigators report significantly better results using 450–480 nm light.
  • High Contrast: The dye produces a brilliant yellow/green luminescence. Therefore, you can capture high-resolution photographic evidence even on dark or patterned backgrounds.
  • Versatile Preparation: The raw solution has a thick, syrup-like consistency. However, most examiners prefer to dilute it with ethanol or methanol for a more even application.
  • Application Methods: You can apply the diluted mixture by dipping, spraying, or using a wash bottle to saturate the fumed evidence thoroughly.
Professional Standards and Stability
We supply Ardrox in a 500ml quantity, offering excellent value for high-volume forensic departments. This reagent is famous for its long-term stability and reliable performance across various substrates.
  • Unmixed Shelf Life: The concentrated dye lasts for five years when you keep it in a cool, dry place.
  • Mixed Solution Life: Once diluted, the working solution remains effective for one year or longer.
  • Storage Requirements: You must store mixed solutions inside a fume hood or a dedicated flammable liquids cabinet to comply with laboratory safety protocols.
Safety and Laboratory Handling
Because Ardrox is a concentrated fluorescent dye, you must handle it with extreme care. Always prepare and apply the solution in a well-ventilated area. Furthermore, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid skin contact or staining.
