Number Plate Exhibit Box

The Number Plate Exhibit Box provides a secure and professional solution for the collection, storage and preservation of vehicle registration plates.

Forensic teams can use the box from the point of recovery through examination, storage and presentation. It helps protect fingerprints, DNA and other trace material from unnecessary handling and accidental damage.

Protecting Forensic Evidence

Vehicle number plates can carry valuable forensic evidence. This may include fingerprints, DNA, fibres, residues and other trace material.

The Number Plate Exhibit Box helps reduce unnecessary contact with the plate surface. As a result, investigators can protect areas that may require further forensic examination.

The rigid construction also helps prevent bending, scratching and surface damage during transport and storage.

Suitable for Post-Laboratory Storage

After forensic examination or chemical treatment, a number plate may require additional protection.

The box helps shield treated surfaces from rubbing, abrasion and accidental handling. Therefore, investigators can return the plate to secure storage without unnecessary contact with developed evidence.

This makes the box particularly useful after fingerprint development, DNA examination or other forensic processing.

Supports Evidence Management

Clear identification areas allow investigators to record essential case information.

For example, users can add:

• Case or exhibit reference
• Recovery date
• Location
• Officer or examiner details
• Chain-of-custody information

This supports consistent evidence management from recovery through to long-term storage.

Secure Storage and Transport

The rigid structure protects both plastic and metal registration plates during handling.

In addition, a transparent viewing panel allows personnel to inspect the exhibit without repeatedly opening the box. This can help reduce unnecessary handling during storage, audit or review.

The design also allows the exhibit to remain clearly visible while retaining physical protection.

Suitable for Court and Review Purposes

The box provides a practical method of presenting and reviewing number plate evidence.

Because personnel can identify the exhibit without direct handling, the box can support case reviews, audits and courtroom presentation where required.

It also helps maintain an organised and professional evidence package throughout the life of the case.

Additional Storage Applications

Although designed primarily for forensic use, the box may also suit other specialist storage applications.

Museums, archives and collectors can use it to protect historic or unusual vehicle registration plates from handling wear and accidental damage.
